Data Protection

Insofar as personal data are collected on our website (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) this will be on a preferably voluntary basis as much as possible. The utilization of the publications and services are, as far as possible, available without surrender of personal data.

Please note that data transmission via the internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may involve gaps in security. Absolute protection against access by third parties is not possible.

The utilization of contact data published within the scope of the imprint obligation by a third party for the consignment of advertisements and information, is expressively prohibited.

Should the operator receive unsolicited promotional material, such as spam etc., the operator expressively reserves the right to take legal action.

Logging

Whenever the websites are accessed and files retrieved, the following data are logged and evaluated for statistical purposes:

  • the address (URL) of
  • the website retrieving
  • the file the name of the file retrieved
  • date and time of retrieving
  • amount of data transferred access status (file transferred, file not found etc.)
  • description of the browser and/or the operating system used
  • the shortened IP-address

The IP-address is shortened by the last two bytes as soon as the address has been retrieved.
Example: 212.211.130.188 will become 212.211.0.0
Personal user profiles cannot be created with the IP-addresses stored in a shortened form.

Cookies

On visiting a website, a cookie session is automatically activated and also automatically deactivated when you close your browser. Cookies is only needed for navigational purposes and for the display of web pages. This information is in subsequent browser sessions no longer available. Storage or analysis of users’ access behavior does not take place. Access to web pages is also possible when cookies is deactivated. We use this for our own internal statistics PIWIK, an Open-Source-Software for statistical analysis of visitors accessing. Piwik uses so-called “Cookies”, text files, which are stored on your computer and allow the analysis of the use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your usage of this internet service is stored solely on Prof. Kormann’s server. The IP-address is anonymized immediately after processing and before storage. This prevents the IP-number allocated to your computer from being recorded in our statistics.

The stored data is statistically analyzed, in order to optimize design and development to our website and so enable us to meet necessary requirements.. The data is used for this purpose alone and subsequently deleted after analysis.
